ONLINE ART GALLERY BUILT WITH DJANGO AND AI

margafeliu.art is the online gallery of Marga Feliu, a painter working from her studio in Porreres, Mallorca. A custom Django build designed so her work —mixed media, acrylic and abstract— looks on screen the way it looks hanging on a gallery wall.

Every piece has its own page with year, technique, dimensions, price and availability, and the catalogue is arranged into rooms by category, just like the studio. Visitors can even change the wall colour of the gallery to picture a painting in their own home before asking about it.

Artificial intelligence runs through the whole project: it was used to speed up backend and interface development, to write and refine the copy for every artwork and category, and to shape the content strategy the gallery now competes with on Google.

The result is an owned, permanent catalogue that ranks in search instead of depending on Instagram or WhatsApp, with direct contact by WhatsApp, email or phone and studio visits by appointment.

Marga Feliu used to show and sell her work through social media and private messages: each painting lived in a post that vanished within days, with no place to see the full collection and nowhere of her own to send an interested buyer.

The goal was to build her own digital gallery: a permanent catalogue, organised by technique, carrying everything a buyer needs to make up their mind —year, dimensions, technique, price and availability— with a direct route to contact from every artwork.

Alongside that commercial goal came a visibility one: anyone searching for contemporary art in Mallorca, a gallery in Porreres or the artist by name should find her on Google without paying for ads. SEO was therefore not bolted on at the end: it shaped the architecture from day one, with clean URLs per artwork and category, unique descriptive copy on every page, metadata and structured data, a sitemap and careful performance.

Technically, the challenge was making it self-managed: the artist had to be able to add a new piece, mark it as sold or move it to another room without touching code or depending on anyone.

The gallery is live and growing, with the collection organised into rooms by technique and an individual page for every artwork. What changed for the artist:

• An owned, permanent catalogue that no longer depends on the Instagram algorithm.
• Presence on Google for brand and local-art searches in Mallorca, with artworks and categories indexed.
• Full autonomy: new pieces, prices, availability and rooms all managed by the artist from the admin panel.
